Keeping your tanning beds clean is about more than adhering to health codes - it’s about impressing your clients with an environment that’s welcoming, upholding quality standards and keeping your equipment running at full efficiency. And cleaning your beds goes beyond a simple acrylic wipe-down after every use. For the sake of your beds and your business, you have to maintain regular monthly cleanings (or more if you have high-traffic beds).
So, commit to giving your beds a thorough cleaning, from top to bottom, at least once a month. Here’s how:

Start with the acrylics, taking out both the top and bottom pieces and cleaning each one thoroughly on both sides. Dirt on your acrylics can dramatically reduce the amount of UV light getting through and decrease the beds’ effectiveness. That’s bad news, so keep your acrylics “military clean. “
Once you’re done cleaning the acrylics, get started on the lamps. Using a damp wash cloth, give each lamp and reflector a gentle wipe-down. What you’re trying to do is remove any dust that may have made its way into the unit. So, use a cloth that’s clean, new and designed to capture dust, not leave it behind.
Finally, check the air filters, the fan grills and fan blades. Not all tanning beds will have each of these features, but those that do need to be checked (and cleaned) regularly. A dirty filter can not only affect the air quality in the bed, it can also cause the bed to overheat. Just as a dirty lint trap can wreak havoc on a dryer, an old air filter can destroy a tanning bed. Likewise with fan grills and fan blades.
To maintain your new cleaning schedule, set aside a day each month to come in early or stay late and get it done. Whether it’s the first Tuesday of every month or always on the 15th, just make sure it happens. If you can’t commit to getting all of your beds done on a single day, you can still stay on top of your cleaning schedule. Simply attach a small sticker to the underside or rear leg of every bed and make a note of the date each time you do a thorough cleaning of a unit.

There are 3 fans in the bench that need to be checked in order for proper ventilation.
Please look at p. 3 of this wiring diagram
http://www.tanning-bed-parts.c...96-01a.pdf
Often inoperable fans will spin simply from the movement of the other fans. When checking all three fans, take a playing card (i.e. ace of spades) and put the tip of it into the fan. If the fan does not slow down and gives significant resistance you know the fan is working. If the card tip makes the fan blade stop you will know that it is not working.
Other factors that can lead to heat issues include distance from the wall, ambient room temperature, and voltage. If all fans are working have an electrician test your voltage to see if it has changed and make sure you salon stays below 80 degrees.
If all else fails give us a call at 800-449-3605 and a service technician will be able to dig deeper into what is causing your heat issues.
Thx,
Logan
