The best way to avoid a bikini tan line is to tan indoors in the nude. Tanning salons are very secure, you can usually lock the door and they’re also very hygienic. Most people tan in the nude, the salons expect it and they provide towels and sometimes robes for your comfort. Also, a salon is required to sanitize tanning beds after every use, so they’re clean.
Safe Indoor Tanning
If you’re tanning in the nude and targeting an area like your bikini line for the first time, you want to be really careful. These are areas of your body that may have never, or at least very rarely, ever seen the sun. So make sure you use a good indoor tanning lotion and watch your time in the bed.
Even if the rest of your body has a great base tan, you want to start off slow. Those unexposed areas are hyper-sensitive, so you need to build up a tan. If you feel a prickly or stinging sensation, you’ve overdone it. Remember, tanning is a process. So, reduce your time in the beds until you’re able to develop a nice, all-over and even tan.
Increase your time with each session and once you have that even base tan all over, you can start maximizing your tanning time. Always use indoor lotion, moisturize regularly and welcome to the world of no tan lines.
Outdoor Bikini Line Tanning
The only way you’re going to get rid of that bikini line tanning outdoors is by tanning in the nude – sorry, but it’s the only way. Otherwise, you can try alternating your swimsuits to avoid a severe tan line or join the tan-line-free ranks of tanning bed users.
