Careless customers, servicers in a hurry, even the most careful tanning salon owner may bump their tanning bed, pushing it into the back wall. Sure, the wall is behind the tanning bed and may never be seen. But if you really want to protect the walls from damage, use this simple technique and never think about it again...
A simple way to prevent a tanning bed from damaging the back wall of
your salon is with a "stop block". Measure from the back of the tanning
bed pedestal to the rearmost point of the bed and add some extra to determine the proper length of the block needed. A simple block made from 2x6 framing lumber is easy to make and can be found at any hardware store that sells wood.

Make two blocks per bed and place them on the floor behind the left and right pedestals.
Now when the tanning bed is bumped the stop blocks will contact the baseboard, which is much more durable than most wall boards and easier to change if it gets damaged.
